Bluebird days in Asahidake are rare, although we have seen 4 in the last 9 days. This record low snow fall season continues with another warm sunny day. There was plenty of snow for the wind to gently pack down to a dense thick layer. The queue to the ropeway extended out of the building with plenty of time to have a few beers or coffee. Ski touring was a great idea to avoid the queue. We had the full view of the summit with the steaming fumeroles all day. The sunset run was a stunning visual fest of an orange and purple sky punctuated by a forest of frozen Christmas trees. A good day spent with Don and Bill, chatting, skiing and exploring this spectacular volcano. Cheers guys.
