We said we were not going back to Asahidake unless there was at least 30cm of new snow. The snow surface could not have suffered more after the sun, the wind and the numerous ski tracks had hammered it to a bullet proof shine only 3 days ago. The snow god did entertain our request and within a 24 hour period around 30cm of new snow fell without significant wind effect. So spring was delayed for the moment and everyone went to Asahidake today.
